Alertness about HIV
A person who is infected with HIV suffers from viral infection for the rest of his life and even sometimes infects others even when they appear healthy and perfectly well. The peril of transmission of HIV can be reduced or prevented by taking certain precautions.
Regular HIV testing at every 6 months is very important and highly recommended.
A person who is detected with positive (+) HIV test may not be detected with AIDS. However, people infected by HIV can develop AIDS.
A positive test absolutely must be followed by a more sensitive test for HIV.
Getting tested for HIV may be emotional and difficult task but the health care providers must handle the issues with care so that infected person feel comfortable.
