Getting Started

Physical activity will reduce your chances of having chronic illness, and disease.  It will also help you to stay injury free, and lose weight.  You will even improve your sleeping habits, and your self esteem.

When you are getting started, there are a few things that you should keep in mind.  Let us take a look.  The first thing is first.  Before you start an exercise program you have to assess your physical fitness level.  Doing this will give you the bench marks for which you can gauge your progress.

Most adults should aim for about 150 minutes of physical exercise per week.  Make sure that some of this time is devoted to strength training, and exercises for 6-pack abs.

When you are first getting started, be cautious, and start slow.  If you have an injury, you should consult a doctor in order to know what is right for your new workouts. Plan your workouts like you would an appointment.  Watch your favorite shows, as you run on a treadmill.  Just make sure that you get it in.

Plan to alternate your activity, and be sure that you are changing up your workouts.  This will prevent boredom.  When you get bored with your program, you end up missing workouts.  This is the last thing that you need right at the beginning when you are new.  Always give yourself plenty of time to warm up before your workouts.  This will prevent injuries, and it will improve performance in the gym.  Remember that safety is always first, no matter what.
