Instead of having small meals throughout the day, calculating food on the glycemic index or counting carbohydrate grams, Eat Stop Eat scheme requires you to fast for 24 hours, 2 times a week in an effort to burn fat, and boost your metabolism and lose weight. The program does not believe in the notion that starving for small bouts at a time puts the metabolism into slow mo. The program believes that if the metabolism quickens the energy improves and the body won’t feed off the muscle.
