I Didn’t Want to Learn English

I am writing this as an assignment for my English as a second language class. At first, I didn’t want to learn English. My parents told me that they weren’t going to force me to take an esl lesson. This made me happy, and for a while I didn’t take one. But then I realized that it was in my best interest. It was hard for me to learn in class, and I couldn’t communicate with the other kids. As a result, I didn’t have any friends. I think my parents realized that I would appreciate the class more if I learned on my own that I needed it.
