How Grad School differs

Students who are just graduating from college and starting their graduate programs have a tendency to have a lot of misconceptions about graduate school and what to expect. The work that graduate schools demand is so much different from what colleges demand from undergrads. Certain, university is no walk in the park for most people, but the level of thinking is very various. In university, you’re questioned to read specific chapters and questioned to understand certain lists of material. In graduate school, you are basically given a subject matter and told to research and understand as much as you possibly can about it in a given time period. You are given sources, and trust me the studying you’re assigned on the topic will probably be much more than enough, but you’re also expected to explore the field on your own. A lot of this comes into play together with your own study as well.
