Popular 2011 Holiday Recipes

Caja China, La Caja China, China box

There are an amazing number of new recipes created by people each year as new types of traditions to celebrate the holiday season and interestingly, some of these recipes actually turn into bonified traditions after just a short while. Many people looking for new holiday traditions will search far and wide for new traditions to be had and will look to just about every other culture on the planet to find interesting things to include in a holiday celebration. For example, many people have started to look at Hispanic cultures and their traditional celebrations of the holiday season since people of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent have been known for such amazing meals on days like Christmas Eve where the family gets together around the Caja China to cook an amazing cut of pork.

One interesting tradition that has sparked the interest of many people is that of an interesting type of risotto that is common in Italy that takes a number of delicious ingredients to create a deceptively complex dish that includes a nutty and sweet option for cooking grains of barley, which is a nice alternative to the rice traditionally used in many risottos. The recipe calls for such ingredients as white onions, olive oil, white wine, barley and balsamic vinegar. Some people also use ground pepper if they are a fan of that seasoning. Another interesting food tradition is that of a smoked duck and chicken salad which includes some amazingly delicious types of seasoning such as honeydew melon and cantaloupe as accents.
